MY RETREAT

Yoga and Ayurveda Retreat - Daily Sadhana for a healthy, sexy and happy life.

This retreat is about becoming our own healers. We will practice and implement tools that will help us take care of our personal wellbeing and improve the quality of our lives. The Pearls of Wisdom retreat is a gift to ourselves, of healing and celebration.

We will learn Yogic and Ayurvedic fundamentals to manifest the lives we long for, in connection with our essence and inner nature and ones of happiness and lasting fulfillment.

Dynamic Yoga - Dynamic Spiral Yoga combines elements of Traditional Hatha yoga and Ashtanga asana sequences including explorative spiral movement patterns.This practice strengthens the whole Myofascial and cardio-respiratory systems, optimizing chi (energy) in the body. Dynamic Spiral Yoga is a graceful series, with a Yang energetic quality of movement, which works directly with opening up and hydrating the joints and the fascia, also strengthening and nourishing the muscles, combined with a Yin Fascial Yoga sequence, which creates the perfect Yin & Yang balanced practice. Dynamic Spiral Yoga Fascia Fluidity is a continuum Vinyasa practice that builds up energy, flexibility and strength. 

Yin Yoga - Yin Yoga is the counterbalance to our morning Yang practice. It is essential for achieving a calm and meditative state of mind .The Yin aspect helps us to focus on healing the blockages in our connective tissues, such as bones, ligaments and fascia. It can dramatically shift holding patterns of tension, increase flexibility and realign the body. We will learn to use tools, like fascia balls, to release the tension in our tissue.

A guided meditation to reconnect with the essence of mother earth, bring back balance and stability to our physical bodies, and awake a sense of gratitude and reverence for life.

Metta (lovingkindness) is that sense of openness when we feel connected to everyone and everything in the world. In some ways, it’s a natural outgrowth of mindfulness practice and just the general cultivation of happiness in our lives. When the Buddha talks about lovingkindness, he’s clearly pointing to something different from what we usually call “love.” In fact, his teachings point to the problems with selective love, and how that leads to clinging and ultimately suffering as things change. May you be happy. May you be peaceful. May you live with ease

Ayurveda is a philosophy and an approach to wellness that holds self-awareness as the essence and foundation for good health. It's long revered teachings offer insights that are simple, yet profound and deep. We will learn how to align our nature with mother nature and join the magical flow. A workshop that will leave us feeling empowered and grateful for a dharmic life! 

Dinacharya (दिनचर्या) refers to ayurvedic daily routine recommendations that educate how to live a healthier, happier and longer life and avoid ailments! Learn how to wake up and set the tone for your day. Learn how to prepare yourself with a buffer of a radiant light that will make you shine throughout your day. This Ayurvedic daily ritual helps us maintain balance and harmony in our body and nature through the regulation of our biological clock. It also helps in the proper digestion, absorption, and assimilation of food. This practice can also enhance self-esteem, brings happiness and reverses aging. Filipa Veiga

Your teacher

Filipa was born in Portugal and at the age of four moved to Macau where she was, for the first time, immersed in religion and spirituality – buddhist temples, catholic churches, jesuit priests and feng shui. To her, this exposure at a young age was the gift that allowed her to appreciate life in a more divine sense.

 

Classical, jazz and contemporary dance was the cornerstone of her upbringing and identity until, one day, she discovered yoga. It was “love at first practice,” as though a clear inner voice set her on a new path of personal transformation.

Retreating with us

  • 6 days/nights long, from Sunday to Saturday
  • Full board in an upscale traditionally designed cottage with private balcony
  • Two yoga classes per day
  • One meditation or celebration/ceremony per day 
  • 3 abundant and delicious meals each day (by Uri, our Michelin trained chef)
  • One group dinner at Kea Retreat’s family’s taverna
  • Yoga equipment and accessories (mats, blocks, bolsters, straps, and blankets)
  • Open poolside bar and snacks
  • Complimentary tote bag for the beach
  • Pickup and drop off at ferry station

Additional Activities:

Kayaks – venture into the sea with our kayaks, double or single, to discover caves and more isolated beaches.

Snorkeling – for those looking to discover what’s lurking under the surface and meet our local fish, or do some shell diving, snorkels and goggles are available.

Illoulida – walk down to the ancient capital, Ioulida, during sunset hours to explore the beautiful architecture and small shops (clothing, ceramics, local produce).

Island boat trip – set sail around the island on a calm ocean bed to uncover hidden corners of the island that can only be experienced by boat.

Hikes – the island is full of ancient trails that cross through farmlands and forests, up greeny hills, or down to secret shores with ruins from the 12th century BC.

Kastriani monastery – drive up the windy cliffs of the northern peak of the island to the breathtakingly beautiful blue and white Greek orthodox monastery that overlooks the Aegean sea.

Winery – have a picnic between the grape leaves of Kea Retreat’s vineyard while sipping on their locally grown wine.

Arts and crafts – feel free to use the art supplies situated on the shelf and let your creativity flow.

Music and Instruments – strum away at the guitar or play the tibetan bowls to the intoxicating sounds of nature.

Relax – unwind by picking a book off of the shelf and laying down on one of the outdoor beanbags, hammocks, or couches, or take a few more steps down to the beach and soak up some sun.
